Participating Schools

The following categories of government or private schools may participate:

  • Pre and Primary Schools: The schools that offer classes from play school extended up to class V only.
  • K-12 Schools: The schools that offer classes from play school and right up to class X or XII.

Segments

While the pre and Primary Schools will have only one segment, the K-12 school may typically have the following segments within their school:-

  • Pre and Primary School [from play school through class V]
  • Middle School [Class VI to VIII]
  • Senior School [Class IX to XII]

Eligibility

  • Teachers from all streams/sections from preprimary to senior secondary wing may apply. B. Ed is NOT essential.
  • Minimum teaching Experience 5 years
  • Minimum years of service in the current school: 1 year

  • For the purpose of this award, The teachers applying for secondary school category need to be teaching any one of the following subjects along with other qualifying parameters English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, History, Geography, Political Science, Accountancy and Business Studies.

Fee

  • There is no fee levied at any level in the entire process of nominations and awards.

Evaluation Process

The evaluation of nomination would be entirely online. In case the selection team at central office decides, a few candidates may be called for one to one interaction at a pre informed venue.

Procedure of Selection:

  • Teachers from all sections of the School (Primary, Middle & Senior School) to be invited by the Head of School to apply as per ‘Nomination Form/application form’.

  • Teachers to complete the application on the Format provided. The teacher creates an applicant’s portfolio as per the questionnaire, fills up the self-evaluation part of the nomination form and submits it.

  • The school selection panel consisting of two senior representatives and school Principal will mark the applications independently based on the inputs provided by the applicant. One of the two senior representatives of the school would be coordinator/HM/VP of the wing where the nominee teacher is working. The other seconding teacher is the one referred by nominee teacher and approved by school principal. The seconding teacher can not be the nominee teacher.

  • The school head will evaluate and endorse maximum three applications(one in each Primary, middle and secondary section) from school.

  • The duly nominated, marked and endorsed applications must be submitted using the portal latest by October 21, 2016.

  • A committee comprising renowned educationists will scrutinize nominations. In case the need is felt, some of the applicants may be called for personal interview either face to face or video conferencing and finalize the awards.
  • Names of the Award Winners will be announced on ------------------ in the prominent newspapers.

The Nominations

The Selection Panel will validate all information provided by the teachers and shortlist the finalists in each segment.

Not more than one teacher from each of the three segments may be recommended for the award from each school.

While stand-alone Pre and Primary School can send only one nomination, the K-12 Schools can send up to a total of three [3] nominations, subject to the ceiling of one nomination per segment.

Time Schedule

Nomination forms duly endorsed  and evaluated by self and school selection panel must be uploaded by latest by 21st October 2016

Winners

The TeacherSITY best teacher awards shall be bestowed on teachers meeting the criteria defined for teaching excellence.

Awards

Every such award winner at each level will receive a certificate / citation and such cash/kind reward as the awards authorities may decide.
